What is Curious
Curious is a national queer youth development initiative between the New Zealand AIDS Foundation and Rainbow Youth. The aim of Curious is to provide a resource for young people to share feelings and experiences about sexuality and gender identity to enhance connectedness and to promote diversity in their communities.
Text Curious
Curious TXT is a mobile phone service that give students the information they need to feel comfortable about their emerging sexuality or gender identity, particularly students who are coming to terms with the realisation they are gay, lesbian, bisexual, takaatapui or transgender.
Send the word ‘curious’, then a space followed by any question in the body of a text message to the number 3535. Texts cost 20 cents.
You can also receive regular updates from Curious TXT by texting ‘join_curious’ to 3535.
OUTLine NZ responds to the messages received within 48 hours. OUTLine NZ also offer an 0800 support line service with trained staff. Call 0800 OUTLINE (0800 688 5463).

Curious website
Curious website was launch in February 2010 at the Nelson Q-Youth Hui – Link Together. The website aims to be the hub for Queer Youth throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. Curious is part of a joint intitative between New Zealand AIDS Foundation and Rainbow Youth – For youth, by youth.
