When we meet?
Every Sunday (excl. Public Holidays) 5pm onwards. We alternate between two venues.. Kamo Cafe, 382 Karangahape Road and or at the Rainbow Youth Centre, 281 Karangahape Road.
If we're meeting at the RYC there will be a sign at Kamo letting you know. And vice versa if we're meeting at Kamo there will be a sign at the RYC.
What is this group?
I.D. is an Auckland based queer youth group, providing social contact outside of a night club environment for queer and questioning youth. We have been meeting for over a decade.
Who goes to it?
Anyone from age 18 to 27.. Many are questioning their sexuality or gender identity, or have just recently 'come out' and others might be new to Auckland and are looking to make more friends. We're here for under 27 year olds who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, takataapui or fa'afafine, asexual, intersex and or curious and questioning.
Facilitators
There are also facilitators who run the group. You can talk to them in private if you need to. They will let you know about upcoming events and other Rainbow Youth activities.
We often hold events other than our regular cafe meetings, like movie nights, shows, bowling, dinners, pool, karaoke, laser strike and picnics.
